Many corporations require that, for individual advancement within the corporation or for employment, the individual have the PMP credential.

Prerequisites

Candidates should be familiar with Project Management Concepts and Microsoft Project software

Certification Award Requirements by the PMI (aka PMI's pre-requisites):

Bachelor Degree holders: 4,500 hrs of project management experience and minimum of THREE years project management experience within the SIX year period prior to application
Non-degree holders: 7,500 hrs of project management experience and minimum of FIVE years project management experience within the EIGHT year period prior to application
35 Learning Credit Hours – This Class Fulfills the Learning Credit Hour Requirement

PMP Certification Exam

The PMP exam is only available to those who have met the PMI pre-requisites, submitted their application (application submission is taught in our class) to the PMI and have been approved for testing by the PMI. Once approved, you must pay for the exam directly to the testing center. The PMP exam is $555 to non PMI members.

PMBOK 5th Edition Changes - 2013

PMI has begun to roll out the new and improved Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide 5th Edition (PMBOK). PMI will update the PMP exam to reflect the changes, most notably the addition of a new knowledge area, stakeholder management. The effect this change has on the PMP course will be drastic and TrainACE will adjust its course to fit the exam changes. For the students, this means all new textbooks and study material. TrainACE will begin providing the latest courseware as it becomes available from Crosswinds Learning. Until the new courseware is available and has been reviewed by TrainACE’s staff, TrainACE will continue to teach towards the PMBOK 4th edition PMP exam. Students can continue to take the PMP 4th edition exam until July 31st.
