About Our Classes

The A+ and Network+ training classes can be taken independently, but here at TrainACE we have also developed a program that combines the A+ and Network+ into one combination course. The A+ and Network+ certifications are both in demand for entry to mid level IT jobs. These CompTIA certifications also provide the fundamentals one needs to move on to higher level networking courses. This class provides our students with the learning foundation they will need to pursue the next stage of employment and higher education in IT! This is also the ideal class for someone looking to make a career change in to IT, computer repair and networking.
Not only is this class very hands on and very interactive, but it is also available in a custom format at your location if you're looking for group instruction. Our A+/ Network+ course provides the student with a solid foundation in PC hardware and operating system knowledge (DOS / Windows 9x, 2000, NT 4.0 and XP), as well as the hands-on training necessary to succeed in the IT industry / workforce. Additional program hours in networking concepts, combined with application software, makes the A+/ Network+ certification class an excellent stepping stone to more advanced certifications.
To receive the A+ certification students must pass two tests — Essentials and IT Tech.
Network+ is a certification that ensures the knowledge of networking professionals with 18—24 months experience in the IT industry, or those that possess equivalent knowledge and skills. Network+ is an entry level certification open to anyone who desires to learn networking basics as a foundation which can be applied towards other advanced networking certifications.
A+ and Network+ certifications provide IT managers and supervisors with an increasingly important benchmark in the hiring and promotion process. What’s more, companies are finding that incorporating certified technicians within their organizations helps build confidence and value. More and more companies are requiring computer certifications, such as A+, Network+ as a pre-requisite for employment. The last few hours of the course will be spent doing test prep and review.
An added benefit of this class is that upon completion, you will be able troubleshoot and repair your own computer or laptop and set up and manage your at home network.

CompTIA A+ Exam Update in 2012
Comptia A+ 220-801 measures the necessary competencies of an entry level IT Professional with at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, installation, and configutation of PCs, laptops and related hardware, and basic networking.
Comptia A+ 220-802 is an extension of knowledge and skills identified by exam 220-801. It takes these ideas and puts them in a more "hands-on" orientation. 220-802 focuses on scenarios that utilize the skills required to install and configure PC operating systems as well as configuring common features for mobile operating systems Android and Apple iOS.
The previous version of the CompTIA A+ certification, exams 220-701 and 220-702, will be available through August 31, 2013. There will be no additional action you need to take when the exams switch to the 800 series. Your certification will be equivalent to those who have been deemed A+ certified by passing the 220-801 and 220-802.
CompTIA Network+ Exam Update in 2011
The single exam you must pass to become CompTIA Network+ certified is the N10-005. As of August 31, 2012 the N10-004 has retired and been archived. The latest version of the exam, N10-005, was released on December 1, 2011 to address virtual networking and give more attention to network security and coverage of the seven-layer OSI model. Just as seen with the A+ Exams, passing the previous version automatically deems you Network+ certified. There is no additional action you need to take to 'update' your certification.
